Facilities

Overview

The Facilities Department is responsible for cleaning and maintaining 28 schools and sites in our district, which spans about a 3-hour drive from one side to the other. The district operates two full-service Facility shops in Burns Lake and Vanderhoof to support services in all five communities.

Our Facilities staff include trades, maintenance and custodial staff who are responsible for performing the following services:

  • Regular maintenance for all sites
  • Facility upgrades and improvements
  • Coordinating and managing capital projects, renovations, and new construction
  • Custodial and cleaning
  • Energy conservation initiatives
  • Property maintenance and upgrades
  • Coordinating summer staff and seasonal initiatives
